On Retreat
SOUL Sanctuary
I had the opportunity to go inward into myself and outward into nature. I experienced more silence than ever before, which made the opportunities to speak to co-participants and staff even more rewarding. I took my first foray into meditation, ate fruit from the tree, and nourished myself with fresh organic foods prepared with affection. Months later, I remain grateful for the experience and have seen a measurable change in my approach towards my work. I now respect the rest day as much as the work day, try for regular meditative moments, and keep up my efforts to shun self-imposed anxiety. Not bad for a four day retreat.
—Bernadette Armand, organizer & human rights lawyer, Miami, FL
SOUL Sanctuary is a five-day refuge program at no cost for social change practitioners who seek a way of living that nourishes the mind, body and soul. Each session we welcome six organizers and activists for: rest, fellowship & community; daily opportunities for meditation and yoga; time in the garden, art studio, and on the land and home-cooked, locally grown food.
UPCOMING SESSIONS:
June 24 - 28
July 29 - August 2
August 26 - August 30
