“A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” ~Margaret Mead
Individual support through gifts of time, energy and resources are foundational pillars that ground our work and keep The Stone House alive. Our community is strengthened and grows because friends, both near and far, support and join in this work. Our impact and our own sustainability increase as more hands and hearts join together for transformational social change.
Our volunteer program gives folks of all ages the opportunity to meet and connect with other friends out at The Stone house, spend time on the land, and be a part of the radical hospitality that is lived and practiced here. Simply put, we couldn’t do what we do without the generous donation of time and talent by our volunteers. We offer several different ways to help:
hosts and cooks
Volunteer hosts have the important role of putting radical hospitality into practice as they greet and welcome guests, conduct tours and help to orient newcomers to The Stone House.
Volunteer cooks play a vital role by helping our professional cooks provide the delicious food for which we are known.
We typically host quarterly workdays for volunteers. Friends are invited to come help us work in the garden, spruce up the grounds, show some love with paint, organize and clean some of our indoor spaces, and more!
Volunteering for special events like concerts, open houses, community dinners and programs is a great way to attend a fun event at The Stone House while helping to make it happen!
